Subscription Box Review: Burke Whole Home Box

IMG_7191

I have an addiction to subscription boxes. It’s a small addiction, though– you know, like to caffeine or to poppers. I’m not mainlining anything here is what I’m trying to say, but there are a few boxes that I can’t seem to quit!

I currently subscribe to BirchBox Men, Five Four Club, and Phone Case of the Month. I love each of them in their own way, but most boxes up to now have focused mainly on beauty items and/or food. And most subscriptions have been geared towards women. So, when I found out that Burke Decor was getting into the Subscription business, I had to jump on board. As far as I can tell, the Burke Whole Home Box is one of the only boxes that focuses exclusively on home decor items. And I’m not the only one who got excited by the introduction of this box because now there’s a wait-list for it. Sorry bout’ it, boo.

I had been quivering in anticipation to see what was in my first box, so when it finally arrived last week, I ripped it open like a tear-away suit at a Thunder from Down Under show! And just like a balding gay man at an Australian themed male strip-show in Vegas, I was not disappointed. Here’s what I received:

1. Dauville Gold Glased Pebble Dish

2. White Canvas Appetizer Dish

3. Small glass terrarium bowl

4. Small Chamber candle by Modern Alchemy

5. Small Peche candle by Modern Alchemy

6. Tozai Home 4″ x 6″ Frame

7. 2 Two’s Company 4″ x 4″ frames

Okay, so my only complaint is that I wasn’t supplied a list or description of the items I received. This made it difficult to find all of the items on their site, and downright impossible to see if I got my money’s worth. In my exclusive and very professional opinion, however, it was well worth the $49.50 I paid for the box.

Overall, I like each product I received. Plus, I can tell that they are quality items, which is always nice. I’m happy to keep this box going to see what fun stuff lies ahead!

My favorite item: the pink and black Two’s Company frame because it’s not something I would have ever bought for myself, but I love it anyway. Isn’t that the whole point of a subscription box, really? Word up.

What I’d like to see next month: A throw pillow or a blanket! Because I can never have too many!

Okthankyoubye!
